Last year, Mia Thompson – a multimedia journalist studying journalism and environmental studies at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism – created a documentary about our organization and the TopSail Youth Program.
“Sailing Ahead” features our crew, longtime volunteers Ed Steiner and Nancy Richardson; Jacob Strong; Phil Baumann, Academic Coordinator for Lawndale’s Marine Science Academy (MSA) and MSA students participating in the program aboard one of our tall ships; and Captain Lars Harding, Nautical Science Program Director for USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy.
