NAMEPA's 15th Annual Art Contest for K-12 Youth Now Accepting Submissions

Calling all artistic K-12 students who are lovers of the ocean, the maritime community and its history, environmental stewardship and sustainability: The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) is accepting submissions for their 15th Annual Art Contest in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the Organization of the American States.

They are asking students to showcase their creativity in illustrating the relationship between maritime safety, technology innovation, and environmental sustainability, embracing the International Maritime Organization – IMO’s 2024 World Maritime Day Theme “Navigating the Future: Safety First.” Our added suggestion – include one of our tall ships OR something related to the Port of Los Angeles, LA Waterfront or Port of Long Beach!

The submission deadline is May 3 by 11:59 PM EDT, and complete details can be found at namepa.net/education/art-contest.
