You may remember learning about Ella when we shared her story this past spring as part of our 32nd anniversary celebration… in that story about this former camper/current deckhand, we mentioned the Eagle Scout project she was completing in collaboration with our team – a training sail for us to use in Building G!
We were honored and delighted to join with her family and fellow scouts this summer to celebrate her rank as Eagle Scout. Ella’s Eagle Court of Honor was conducted by members of her LAMI family, including Deckhand Ray and Captain Jeremy, a fellow Eagle Scout who has worked with Ella since she was in Sea Scouts. As an Eagle Scout representative, he jumped at the chance to help her accept her challenge and take her Eagle Rank oath for the first time!
As you can see, the training sail she created was prominently displayed too, and the celebration served as a great opportunity to wish her well as she embarked on her next journey at Cal Maritime!
